Subsea and Offshore
Pembroke Port offers a comprehensive and modern range of facilities that are ideally suited for subsea, offshore, and renewable energy operations.
In this section:
Pembroke Port is a key player in the subsea and offshore industries, particularly in the Celtic Sea region.
With specialised facilities like the Pembroke Dock Marine site, the port is a hub for offshore renewables, including wave, tidal, and wind energy projects. Its strategic location offers direct access to abundant marine resources, ideal for renewable technology deployment and testing. As part of the Celtic Freeport initiative, Pembroke Port is poised for further growth, enhancing its role as a leading centre for low-carbon and offshore energy development.
Why choose Pembroke Port?
Port services for the marine renewable energy sector
With superb access to world-class marine energy resources and an experienced, energy-focused supply chain, Pembroke Port is already home to the renewables sector. Through our previous experience in supporting fabrication and deployment of renewables technologies, we understand the demands on the industry.
By redeveloping, we can continue to ensure that we support your business as it grows.
As part of the Pembroke Dock Marine development, we have expanded our flat, open laydown and fabrication spaces, enlarged our slipway to enhance flexibility in transferring large structures from land to sea, and created a workboat pontoon, light industrial workshop, and new office spaces.
We’d love to talk with you about how our spaces and facilities can support you today, tomorrow and long into the future.

Facilities overview
Pembroke Port has been transformed. With the completion of the Pembroke Dock Marine development, our enhanced facilities and spaces are now ready to support industrial growth, create new jobs, and unlock opportunities for our community.
We are proud to have been a key player in this £60 million project, funded by the Swansea Bay City Deal, the European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh Government, and private investment. This development has established a world-class centre for marine energy and engineering on the Milford Haven Waterway, positioning Pembroke Dock at the forefront of the emerging marine energy industry and the broader maritime sector.
This initiative has generated significant opportunities for local businesses and residents. Beyond bolstering the local economy, the project has increased STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths) career opportunities within Pembrokeshire, paving the way for new, challenging, and rewarding careers in the renewables industry. The benefits have rippled across various industries, creating a collaborative environment to seize this once-in-a-generation opportunity.
Fabrication & Assembly Shops
Pembroke Port offers spacious areas specifically designed for fabrication and assembly setups
Storage and laydown
Pembroke Port is a 69 acre port on the west coast of the UK that offers incredible adaptability, with a surprising range of storage and laydown options. The south side of the site now boasts 17,000 sqm of new laydown space, created through extensive land remediation and building demolition.
Workboat Pontoons
Designed to accommodate a diverse range of vessels, including workboats, barges, and other small crafts, these pontoons enhance marine operations in the Celtic Sea and beyond while also strengthening the Port’s operations and maintenance capabilities for the floating offshore wind (FLOW) industry.
Slipway
Pembroke Port is proud to offer top-tier slipway facilities designed to accommodate a wide range of maritime needs. Our slipway is a vital part of our infrastructure, providing essential services for vessel maintenance, repair, and launching, while also offering maximum flexibility for the launch and recovery of marine energy devices and vessels.
Deep-Water Access for Large Vessels
Pembroke Port provides deep-water berths capable of accommodating large subsea and offshore vessels, including specialised construction, survey, and support vessels. The port’s water depths and large quay spaces ensure that heavy-lift operations, offshore platform mobilisations, and the loading and unloading of subsea equipment can be carried out with ease. This eliminates logistical challenges and allows companies to bring in and move out large-scale subsea and offshore components efficiently
New Development: Pembroke Dock Marine
Pembroke Dock Marine is a collaboration between the Port of Milford Haven, ORE Catapult, Marine Energy Wales and Celtic Sea Power. It will build upon the region’s existing facilities, services and spaces to establish a world-class centre for marine energy and engineering, located here at Pembroke Port. It will have cross-industry application, but its immediate focus is on the low carbon energy sector.
This £60m development is funded by the Swansea Bay City Deal, European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh Government and through private investment.
